Ehime - Japan

Ehime is an Japanese prefecture on the island of Shikoku, smallest of the four big islands of Japan. Located in the northwest of Shikoku and faces the Seto Inland Sea and borders the three other prefectures of Shikoku, namely Kagawa, Tokushima and Kōchi. Ehime has an population of around 1.3 million and it's capital is Matsuyama. Fishing is for centuries important in the prefecture and the agriculture of citrus fruits is Ehime known for. Around the capital Matsuyama shipbuilding, chemical industry, oil refinery and paper and textile production are present. In Matsuyama has the oldest Japanese hot spring named Dōgo Onsen, this bathhouse is more than 1200 years in use and very populair. Even the imperial family has it's own bathroom with the name Yushiden and the emperor use exclusively the bathroom Gyokuza no Ma. So let's take an look at the flag.



The flag has three horizontal stripes two yellow ones and one wider green with an flower image off-center. The yellow stands for happiness, the green stands for peace, the white stands for purity. Finally the flower stands for quality and it grown on the citrus trees of Ehima. Solid Japanese prefecture flags as many others, keep it and don't change it.
