Székesfehérvár - Hungary

Székesfehérvár is an Hungarian city which can be found between the capital Budapest and Lake Balaton. The city is capitol of Fejér County and the population is around 272 thousand with al the suburbs combined. Now its time for some name explain and its original called Fehérvár which means "white castle" and there is another Fehérvár. That one is located in present day Romania in an part belongs once to Hungary. By the way, that town was originally called Gyulafehérvár and now it goes as Alba Iulia. The part "Székes" is Hungarian for "seat" because this city was once an royal residence of the Hungarian kings. There is also an German version of the name, Stuhlweißenburg and anybody know some German get the idea of the Hungarian name. Székesfehérvár was an important city in the past because its lays in the center of trade routes from the Balkans to Italy and from Vienna and to Budapest. Many kings are crowned in this place, 43 of them and the last one in 1526. 15 kings find there last resting place and the most famous one Stephen I of Hungary, which became an the patron saint of Hungary. The city has many things to see from the time period of the Hungarian kings. So lets take an look at the flag.

The flag has two colors in vertical position blue and red. The blue stands for the hereafter of the many buried Hungarian kings and the color is royal, the city of kings is an nickname for Székesfehérvár. The red stands for maybe for bravery and the blood of the kings of Hungary, i guess this because didn't find any information about it. The coat of arms is in the center with an white caste with open gates. The open gates stands for that everyone is welcome in Székesfehérvár. The crown is from an duke i think, also no information about that. The colors working well together and the coat of arms is solid.
